What is karma remedy?
We experience life as a series of actions. For example, when we recall our childhood we think in terms of “I did that…, I went there…, I said that…” etc. We cannot have a memory without an action associated with it. Equally, we cannot plan anything without involving an action. All our actions, and their consequences, are collectively called “karma”. We can even say that time itself is karma, because it is always moving on. And even if we choose to stand still, we would still be doing something.
Each moment of time contains information about all the time that has passed. We are all products of our own past karma. The sum of all our collective karma is called evolution. Since as yet there is no practical way of going back into time to change past actions, we have to use the "now" moment to attempt to alter the future. In practical terms, the impact of the consequences of past karma varies in terms of duration. For example, certain consequences appear to have a more long-lasting impact than certain others. Some of the past karma can be given a new direction within this life time, whereas for some others we may need to be reborn. All karma is driven by knowledge alone. We can only do what we know. Our knowledge is tightly interwoven with our intentions. The way to give our karma new direction is by changing what we know (and believe). Changing our perception of the reality of life and the universe is at the heart of "karma remedy". The more we understand what is real and what is not, and act consistently with improved knowledge, the better the outcomes of our karma. That is the only path to true freedom. |
